I graduated in from Cal State University, Sacramento in 1997 with a degree in Business Administration & Accountancy. After graduation, I worked as a Senior Accountant with the California Optometric Association where I was employed for six years. From there, I went to work for the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce as a Senior Accountant using the same accounting software as I did with the COA (Great Plains) while continuing to improve my knowledge of Quickbooks. I also added payroll and cash flow analysis to my duties. In January 2007, I moved to Hawaii and started working for Richard Scott, a real estate developer who owned several rental properties, a budget hotel and later a restaurant. I worked for Rick as a full-charge bookkeeper for about five years running the office and managing all the administrative duties. Upon returning to Lompoc, I took a part-time position at Tax on Wheels while caring for my mother. I worked with Mr. Perry on payroll and individual tax returns for a brief time before going to work for Walpole & Co, LLP, a CPA firm based in Goleta California. I worked for Walpole as a full charge bookkeeper and payroll specialist. While there, I prepared payroll for clients, worked with Not-for-Profits and Rental Property Owners. I was at Walpole for the last 6 years ending in 2019. I am now self-employed and working remotely with clients from my home.
